Roma 0-1 Napoli: Victor Osimhen strikes late to make it 11 wins in a row for Napoli

Osimhen secured the win for Napoli 10 minutes before full time when he volleyed the ball in from an acute angle, a repeat of the previous match when he scored the deciding goal against Bologna late in the second half.

Napoli continued their winning streak as Victor Osimhen's late goal secured them a 1-0 win at AS Roma, meaning Luciano Spalletti's men now have a three-point lead at the top of Serie A over title holders AC Milan.

Napoli have now won 11 matches in a row in all competitions for the second time in their history since 1929-30.

Roma manager Jose Mourinho believes that Napoli didn’t deserve to win at the Stadio Olimpico in the two sides’ clash on Sunday.

The Portuguese stated: “You have to have certain types of qualities to win but right now, there aren’t any. We have to be more decisive upfront, what lodges into the statistics are the shots on goal. Then I also look at the half opportunities, those that you have to transform into opportunities as Osimhen did.

“The players make the difference, sometimes I am sorry to see the efforts of my players that play minutes. Sometimes it is not an equal fight, we are a team that when fatigue accumulates, we go into difficulty. Congratulations to Napoli who won without deserving to, we lost without deserving to. Irrati didn’t have a great game.”

Mourinho was frustrated with the wastefulness of the forward players in the Giallorossi side and stated: “I expected more, I also expected in the same way that Osimhen scored. The few situations we had, we were not able to exploit them, it was a difficult game.”
